Fallout continues from the death of an inmate in an Orange County California Jail earlier this year. The Orange County Register reports that an internal affairs Investigator for the department recently resigned after accusations he lied to the Grand Jury investigating the death. At the time acting Sheriff Jack Anderson indicated to Newport Private Investigations Director of Investigation’s during a meeting on other topics that their would be hard decisions to make after the Grand Jury’s decision was made that included dismissals from the department but it was unclear at the time that perjury would would end a Detectives Career.
